A Review of the Minka Aire Concept II Ceiling Fan
The Minka Aire Concept II was the first remote controlled flushmount ceiling fan and the first to have a built-in light fixture that is nearly flush to the bottom of the fan.
A trend setting fan that was ahead of its time, the Concept II completely changed the concept of a hugger ceiling fan over 5 years ago and still remains one of the all time best designed hugger fans.
In the past, flushmount ceiling fans were notorious for not being rather boring in style, but even worse, not capable of moving very much air.
The typical problem with flushmounted ceiling fans is that the air does not have enough room to flow around the blades without being impeded by the ceiling. This is why flush mount fans in the past, simply were not capable of moving much air and were only recommended as a last resort for rooms with ceilings lower than 8 feet.
The unique design of the Minka Aire Concept ceiling fan has changed this completely. The ABS blades are wider than most other ceiling fans and have an airfoil design to them that helps the fan push more air than other hugger fans. Because there are just 3 blades instead of 4 or 5, there is also less drag on the motor, which enhances the airflow even more. So overall, the Concept II moves more air than many other fans that hang from a standard downrod making it a great choice for smaller rooms with ceilings that are 8 feet and lower.
If you are looking for a sleek unimposing ceiling fan for a low ceiling, the Minka Aire Concept II is by far the best choice.
